Therapy is a collaborative process. If your therapist is not the right one for you—if he/she is stern, judgmental, agitated or harsh—you will likely feel scared, abandoned, and humiliated, and will not be able to resolve your traumatic stress.

Remember, a good therapist should be able to stabilize and calm you, help you lay traumatic memories and reenactments to rest, and reconnect you with your peers.
