Put yourself in a desirable state by changing your submodalities

When you discover the specific triggers that put you into a desirable state, you can use them whenever you need. Similar internal representations generate similar states, feelings, and actions.

Detailed steps for this action are only available in the app.

  1. Think of a situation when you were totally motivated.
Relax and create a clear mental picture of that moment.

  2. Answer the following questions:
Do you see a movie or a snapshot?
Is it in color or in black and white?
Is it close or far away?
Do you see it on the left, on the right, or in the center?
Is it placed high, low, or in the middle of your field of vision?
Is it associated (you see it through your own eyes) or disassociated (you see it as if it was a movie)?
Do you see a frame around it, or do you see a panorama that goes on forever?
Is it bright or dim, dark or light, focused or unfocused?

  3. Write down which submodalities are the strongest for you.
Think about which ones have the most impact and power when you focus on them.

  4. Think of the auditory and kinesthetic submodalities and answer the following questions:
Do you hear mostly your own voice or the voices of others in the scene?
Does it appear to be more of a dialogue or a monologue?
Are the sounds loud or quiet, fast or slow?
Do the sounds come and go, or do they keep up a steady commentary?
What’s the main phrase that you hear or say to yourself?
    Where is the sound placed?
When you feel it, is it hard or soft, warm or cool, rough or smooth, flexible or rigid, solid or liquid, sharp or dull?
Where in your body is the feeling located?

  5. Think of something you would like to be strongly motivated to do, but you are not.
Create a mental image of it.

  6. Go through the questions in points 2 and 4, and note the differences between the responses.
You can use these differences later when you are motivated and when you are not.

  7. Step by step, adjust the submodalities of the thing you were not motivated to do based on the image of the thing that motivates you.
Manipulate the representation of that experience, make it clearer, closer, or brighter. Make a frame around the image or present it as a movie. Do everything possible to make it similar to the situation that motivated you. Do this by altering the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic submodalities.
