Become self-aware.

As you become more self-aware, you will be able to solve your problems efficiently. Understanding what you feel, why you feel it, and most importantly, what values you hold that cause you to have those feelings, will help you understand why you have the problems that you do. This is the first step in solving them!

Detailed steps for this action are only available in the app.

  1. Identify the emotions you feel.
The next time you feel an emotion, take a step back and identify what that emotion is. Put a name to it—are you feeling happy, angry, sad, disappointed, excited, etc.?

  2. Understand why you felt that emotion.
Did you feel angry because you failed to achieve a goal? Did you feel uninspired because you don’t think you’re good enough? Ask yourself “Why” until you get to the root behind your emotion.

  3. Re-evaluate the validity of the standards you have for yourself.
What standard do you judge yourself by? For example, if you felt angry because you failed to achieve a goal, ask yourself why you considered that to be a failure in the first place. It may be that your standards for success need to be re-evaluated.
